Carbon Neutral Print Productions

An eco-friendly approach to creating media

Why become a CNPP approved printer?

Now more than ever, reusing, reducing and recycling are becoming the mantra for consumers everywhere. People demand to know that their products are produced conscientiously, which has resulted in businesses becoming more responsible about their carbon footprint. CNPP gives printing companies a way to prove their commitment to the environment by wiping out the carbon footprint created by producing print media.

How does it work?

The process begins by calculating the carbon emissions your facilities create on a daily basis. CNPP works in conjunction with TerraPass, a carbon emissions reducing company, to complete these calculations. For CNPP, everything from the power it takes to run printing presses to the electricity used to power your facilities to the creation of paper itself is accounted for. Once this figure is computed and combined with the specific aspects of an individual printing job, the number of carbon offsets required can been determined. A carbon offset is achieved when one metric ton (2,205 lbs) of carbon dioxide emissions has been successfully reduced. Each carbon offset is independently verifiable and is filed in a carbon offset registry by TerraPass. Simply put, printing CNPP means the carbon footprint of printing jobs can now be tracked and neutralized via carbon offsets.

Becoming CNPP approved is easy!

When you become a CNPP approved printer, each of your clients has the option whether or not they want a job printed CNPP. They are not locked in to printing CNPP every time, but we are sure that between positive feedback from clients and the bonus of helping our environment, they won’t want to stop!
